You say I'm a pessimist?
I say, I've seen places you've never seen before.
I know things you've only dreamed of knowing.
I've felt what it's like to die,
I've been to the castle in the sky.
No, I wasn't high, not as high as you on your horse
Trying to put me down, well don't even try,
I've been lower.
And the voices in my head scream, "go on, show her",
But I know from experience that you can't just know hurt
Without feeling it just a little, and a little's just enough
To touch you where you shouldn't be touched,
Inside your soul.
Touched just enough to leave a gaping hole
Waiting to be filled with something I call realism.
It's your mind's prison, and you're the warden.
So here's your warning, skip the mourning.
Stop looking for answers you don't want to know.
You say I'm a pessimist?
I was just the first to see the whole show.
